PROGRAM DESIGN

INCREASING STUDENT ACCESS TO ARTS EDUCATION ACROSS A PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT

CHALLENGE
The Department of Arts Education in Chicago Public Schools sought to develop a branded action plan to bridge gaps in arts education across the entire public education system. The task was to secure one liaison for every single one of CPS’s 600+ schools to ensure that students, educators, and administrators would have access to visual art, music, theater, dance, and media arts.

OUTCOME
Program design.
Branding of the program.
Increased volunteerism.
Bridging of schools and arts institutions.

IMPACT
Within two weeks of our program launch, over 500 candidates representing 33% of all CPS schools applied to be an Arts Liaison.
Within three months of the program launch, nearly 67% of all CPS schools had an Arts Liaison.
Within two years, that number was just shy of 96%. Today, 100% of CPS schools have an Arts Liaison (668 schools!)
We’re kinda proud of that.
